Assessor

What is required?

All Assessors must have a current Working With Child Certificate and must complete the Assessor Commencement Guide.

• An Assessor only needs to complete the Assessor Commencement Guide once even if they are an assessor of multiple students.

• Some external Assessors are required to also complete the Duke of Ed Assessor and Venue Checklist.

• If your Assessor is a pre-approved Assessor you are not required to do any of the above paperwork as it has already been completed.

Duke of Edinburgh Checklist for

Assessor & Hosting Venue

• Request the Checklist from HERE or grab a copy from Ms Gallace's office.

• This 10-point Checklist is only required to be completed by external Assessors.

• Keep in mind it will take some time for Assessors/Venues to complete what is required from the Checklist, so provide this to them early.

• Each checklist point needs to be addressed by your Assessor/Venue:

• In some cases, this may be a short description e.g. 'Yes, we have a first aid kit, it is located in the gear bag, side of the netball court'.

• In other cases, an official document will need to be sent (e.g. Venue Safety document, Emergency Response Plan document, Covid Safe plan)

• Your activity CANNOT start until all checklist points have been completed by your Assessor and confirmed by Ms Gallace.

• A Volunteer Working With Child Certificate can be requested for free from the Office of the Children's Guardian . (under 'Purpose of Check' they need to tick Volunteer).

• This checklist does not apply if your Assessor is external, but you do your activity at home and report to them electronically (e.g. Cooking from home, Drawing from home, Textiles from home etc).

• It also does not apply if your activity is run through St Scholastica's College.
