No. You get to design your Award. Maybe that means you will do one activity at a time or maybe not.
You don't have to finish the Bronze Award, as example, by the 6 month mark. You could take up to 12 months, depending on how you have designed to pursue your activities.
Check out the three examples on the right.
You should spend an average of 1 hour a week on an activity. If you miss an activity, you can make it up the following week by doing 2 hours. However, try not to make a habit of this.
If you miss 4 weeks in a row or more. You can not make these hours up (i.e. you can't go to your activity and complete 5 hours in the 5th week). All your previous hours will still count and you can continue with your Award by attending your activity again from this point.
Above are examples of how a Bronze Award can be approached.
For the Journey component, Boomerang Adventures will run the expeditions for our Bronze Students. They will run a compulsory online training course prior to the hike.
The Journey will entail 6 hours* of purposeful effort each day. Students will camp overnight and carry all equipment needed for camping and eating. This requires that students carry a 12kg bag the entire journey at Bronze.
Camping essentials can be hired from Boomerang Adventures. Appropriate hiking footwear is necessary (e.g. good sports shoes, hike boots, work boots etc. Note: you will be walking dirt trails, and weather, mud and water are factors).
